Vietnam Prepare Vinasat-2 satellite in 2012




Information and Communication Ministry said Vietnam has the confidence to be able to launch a second satellite, in the next 3 years, or rather 2012.

The satellite named Vinasat-2 of this refection will get full funding from the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication (VNPT). Through VNPT, the country's second satellite Uncle Ho is predicted to require funds of not less than USD350 million, or approximately Rp3, 5 trillion.

Actually, as reported VNPT Vietnam Investment. still doing some considerations in this second satellite launch, the launch directly or through leasing from another company.

The second satellite project to develop a plan to use satellite facilities to meet the needs of Vietnam demands of satellite-based information is becoming increasing day in the country. Previously, Vietnam's first satellite named Vinasat-1, was launched last year, with total investment of USD300 million.

Vinasat-1 are currently working in 70 percent of capacity, is expected to work at 100 percent capacity in 2010 and regain the investment in the next nine years.
